Opposing Viewpoints in Context

After looking at the resource for a while, the library finally added the Gale database Opposing Viewpoints in Context, to replace the library's subscription to CQ Researcher. Both present current topics from multiple perspectives in a way that supports debate, introductory research, and critical thinking. Consulted faculty preferred Opposing Viewpoints in Context, which also provides access to a number of journal, report, and book titles available now in OneSearch or Journal Search.

Gale in Context: Opposing Viewpoints Opposing Viewpoints In Context is a rich resource for debaters and includes over 20,000 pro/con viewpoints, approximately 19,000 reference articles, interactive maps, infographics, and more. A category on the National Debate Topic provides quick and easy access to content on frequently studied and discussed issues. Periodical content covers current events, news and commentary, economics, environmental issues, political science, and more.

List of Resources Cut

The library renews journals in the Fall. A number of titles are being reviewed for potential cuts, and librarians will be consulting with faculty about potential cuts.
