If your project has a presentation component to it, take a look at these resources before you get started.  Remember to keep your audience in mind and consider yourself sitting in the audience.  Will it be another death-by-Power-Point presentation or something that engages you?

  • Make your Presentation before Writing your paper  While this might not work for everyone, it's a compelling concept.
  • Consider a new presentation tool like Prezi, Haiku Deck or trying the Japanese inspired Pecha Kucha format (20 slides shown for 20 seconds each for a 6-minute 40-second concise presentation).
  • Practice ahead of time.  Don't have a place to practice?  Reserve a Library Study Room.  3 of our rooms (211, 212, 213) have large screens you can use to display your visuals and refine as you present.
