LS 101: Introduction to Academic Library Research

Strengthen your research skills, enhance your knowledge of library and online resources, and develop your understanding of our networked information ecosystem by taking an LS course!  Two, nine-week, one-credit sections are available for LS 101: Introduction to Academic Library Research - one completely online with no meeting times and one hybrid section, with on-site options for Juneau students and synchronous Zoom class meetings for students outside of Juneau.

In this course, you will learn how to:

• Find more precise results more efficiently using a variety of online search systems;
• Evaluate information sources for accuracy, authority, and relevancy;
• Use a variety of technological tools to aid the research process and enhance your online experience;
• Critically engage with your role as both an information consumer and producer.

The skills and approaches that you learn will be immediately relevant to other courses and your personal interests/aspirations.
